Uralkriomash, included in Uralvagonzavod, and Gazprom Helium Service are working on the manufacture of Russia’s first light-weight tank container for transportation and temporary storage of liquefied hydrocarbon gases (LHCG).

The new model is intended for transportation of non-refrigerated liquefied gases from Amur gas processing plant.

Uralkriomash is now manufacturing a tank container prototype that will undergo the full test cycle as specified in the regulations of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.

KTs-44/1,8 tank container is designed for transportation and storage of propane, butane and propane/butane mixtures. Products may be delivered by sea, railway or road transport. A multimodal transportation scheme using several means of transport without intermediate overloading is also available.

Tank containers with liquefied hydrocarbon gases will be further transported using Gazprom Helium Service LNG trucks.

Uralkriomash engineering and production capacities allow the prototype to be developed and manufactured using in-house production facilities. According to the specifications of a 40’ standard container, container weight will be about 11 t and the product weight will be about 18 t. The tank has a capacity of 44 m3, bottom loading/unloading, and the operating temperature range from -40 °С to +50 °С.
