The RD-107A / RD-108A first and second stage rocket engines manufactured by the UEC-Kuznetsov Company of the United Engine Corporation, has ensured successful take-off of a launch vehicle from the Vostochny Cosmodrome.

The launch of the Soyuz-2.1b with a “Fregat” upper stage and 36 British OneWeb telecommunications satellites took place at 05:47 Moscow time from the launch pad of Vostochny Cosmodrome.

The RD-107A / RD-108A engines installed on the launch vehicle worked according to specification. Specialists of the UEC-Kuznetsov service center, who ensure the operation of engines at all launches, took active part in preparing the rocket for launch, and installing and testing the systems responsible for the operation of the engines.

Low Earth Orbit (LEO) OneWeb satellites are designed to provide terrestrial consumers with high-speed Internet directly via satellite communications.
