Training Helicopter Center is Opened in Venezuela

Venezuela opened national helicopter flight training center created under contract between Rosoboronexport and Joint Stock Company of Venezuela defence industry. Opening ceremony was held on 29th of March 2019.

Since 2005 Venezuela is the major partner of Russia in Latin America in the area of military and technical cooperation. This country was supplied with significant amount of Russian armaments and military equipment including multi-mission fighters SU-30МК2, combat and transport helicopters of Mil type, tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, weapon ordnance, latest air defence systems, 100-series Kalashnikov submachine gun. This allowed the country to gain solid potential to ensure national safety and defence capability in shortest time.

Before opening the center, personnel of Venezuela, according to agreement between the parties, were trained in Russian Federation regarding operation rules of Russian simulators, different equipment for the classrooms, control panels of the simulators, etc.

Rosoboronexport and other Russian organisations taking part in Russian-Venezuelan military and technical cooperation remain committed to a policy of expanding cooperation with Defence Ministry and other governmental bodies of Venezuela paying special attention to training of experts as well as timely maintenance of equipment.

Today, helicopters delivered from Russia to Venezuela take part in operations against smugglers and also successfully discover forest fires, conduct rescue and evacuation actions in areas suffered from natural disasters as well as deliver of humanitarian cargo, food and living essentials to remote parts of the country.
