Rostec Will Provide the Video Streaming from the World Cup 2018 in Ultra HD Format

Rostec State Corporation has completed the formation of Control centers for the providing trouble-free functioning of communication infrastructure in 11 cities that will host the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The centers will control the availability of IT and telecommunications infrastructure of the event and will take responsibility for its operation during the matches. For the first time ever during the football matches the transmission of a signal from all matches will be provided for further video streaming in Ultra HD (4K) format.

Information and communications infrastructure of the 2018 World Cup is prepared by the National Center of Informational Support (NCIS) - Rostec State Corporation affiliated company that has earlier successfully implemented the project of ICT for the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup.

Due to the work of NCIS the championship sponsors and FIFA employees will be provided with all the necessary services: mobile Internet and communications, data networking, IP telephony, satellite communication, a professional radio system of TETRA standard as well as broadcaster services. Among other things the highest FIFA requirements for ensuring the availability of essential event services on the level up to 99.99% and the signal transmission for further video streaming in Ultra HD format will be fulfilled. 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia will be the first championship where the system of video repeats will be used.

2018 FIFA World Cup is the 21st FIFA world championship the final part of which will be held in Russia from June 14 till July 15, 2018. For the first time ever Russia will be the host country of the world football championship.
