Rostec State Corporation Celebrates its 15th Anniversary

Rostec State Corporation – the major Russian manufacturing company – celebrates its 15th anniversary. It incorporates about 800 research and development and manufacturing companies in 60 Russian regions and provides stable employment for 600,000 people. 

November 23, 2007 is generally accepted as Rostec’s birthday. On that day, President of Russia Vladimir Putin signed Federal Law No.270-FZ On the State Corporation for the Promotion of the Development, Manufacture, and Export of High Tech Products "Rostec".

Today Rostec is the major manufacturing company in Russia. The key business areas of the Corporation include aircraft and engine manufacture, automotive engineering, radioelectronics, information and medical technology, innovative materials and many others. 

At year-end 2021, consolidated revenue of the Corporation was 2.06 trillion Rubles – almost four times as high as in 2009.

MC-21 new generation medium-haul passenger aircraft, Russia’s first PD-14 turbofan engine for civil aviation, Russia’s first GTD-110M high power turbine, Mi-171A3 offshore helicopter for fuel and energy sector facilities, new Ultriks Kvadri influenza vaccine and COVID-globulin antiviral medicine are among Rostec’s landmark product projects over the past years. 

In addition to the contribution into the commercial manufacturing sector, the Corporation is the major state defence procurement contractor. The company accounts for more than 40% of the total state defense procurement order. Focus is made on provision of advanced weapons, military and special-purpose vehicles for the army. Key types of products include airplanes, helicopters, armored vehicles, precision-guided weapons and countermeasures, ammunition, electronic warfare systems, communications, reconnaissance and control systems, etc.
