Rostec has Developed Neuronet-Based Biometrics Security Software

Ruselectronics holding has developed a neural network to ensure secure use of biometric data. The solution converts biometric data into special electronic encryption keys. After this, the used keys and personalized biometric data are immediately deleted and are not stored anywhere and, therefore, they cannot be stolen.

Biometria-code software product can be used to make digital IDs – passports, driving licenses. The solution can be also involved in electronic voting, payment and medical systems.

The solution ensures biometric and personal data security through the use of neural networks. Instead of ID data and encryption key storage, the software involves the use of neural networks trained to reproduce encryption keys from the owner’s biometric data.

“The solution is able to anonymize information and to provide access to the personal data only for the respective “host” using the encryption key which is, in turn, divided into two halves. The first half is a neural network and the second half is the person with his/her unique biometrics. By using, for example, an eye retina scan, the user starts a program that choses precisely his/her data from the unstructured array. Thus, an unauthorized person will not be able to access the personal data, because only the neural network is capable of finding it and only with the participation of the respective owner,” said Oleg Evtushenko, Rostec’s Executive Director.
