Rostec has Created Equipment to Avoid Control System Failures at Hydropower Plants

Concern Radio-Electronic Technologies (KRET) has developed a control equipment monitoring system for hydropower plants and industrial facilities. The solution is capable of inhibiting erroneous actions of personnel and reduces the risk of power plant and equipment failures. The new product was first shown at the INNOPROM. Central Asia exhibition in Tashkent.

The product developed by Ulyanovsk-based Instrumentation Design Bureau acquires, processes and analyzes process flow status data. The monitoring data is sent to the operator’s panel in order to make prompt response decisions. In case of abnormal situation, the system gives an automatic command to change the equipment operating cycle.

“The primary purpose of the hardware and software package is to improve the safety of critical infrastructure and reduce the risk of man-made failures. KRET’s product substitutes foreign systems that have been used in power generation sector before.   All components used in the product as well as the software are Russian made. Moreover, the system can be easily combined with third-party equipment. We demonstrate this solution for the first time at the INNOPROM. Central Asia forum,” said Rostec’s representatives.

Software developed by KRET’s professionals ensures unauthorized access protection of incoming and outgoing data during system operation. The software meets all requirements imposed to such products by the Federal Service for Technical and Export Control.
