Rostec has Created Automated Welding Material in Place of Similar Foreign Products

Rostec has developed and launched CERASHIELD-BN anti-spatter, which is used for automatic welding at large facilities and was imported before. The products are manufactured at Urals Scientific-Research Institute of Chemicals (UNICHIM) whose capacities are sufficient to cover the needs of Russian companies for such products.

The material has been developed at the request of the companies that faced the issue of phasing out foreign products and is a high-resistant aerosol ceramic coating based on boron nitride.   Thanks to this, there is no need to remove spatter and scale from the work area and equipment, which helps to reduce delay time and to increase labour efficiency considerably.

“CERASHIELD-BN is as good as foreign counterparts, moreover, it is cheaper and more cost-effective. Currently, it is the only Russian anti-spatter that can be used at large production facilities. It can be used in automotive and aircraft industry, shipbuilding, at any facility where automatic welding is used, and the number of such companies in Russia is more than 1600. Currently, 20,000 bottles are produced per month and the output can be increased significantly,” said Ilya Romanov, Director of Development, UNICHIM.
