RT-Tourism (part of Rostec State Corporation) has developed a digital tourist service project for football fans visiting St. Petersburg during the UEFA European Football Championship. By using a mobile application or website, city visitors will be able to buy a service package, which will include a travel card, a SIM card from the mobile operator MTS, tickets to museums and access to 24/7 call center support. The product is available both for foreign tourists with Fan-ID, and for Russians from other regions.
The service can be accessed by registering on the gorussia.today website or by downloading the GoRussia mobile application, current version of which will be available on Google Play and the Apple Store from June 5, 2021.
“Our handy mobile app provides football fans with all tourist services they need and guarantees that the trip to St. Petersburg will be as pleasant as possible. We tried to include all services necessary to prevent headaches caused by having to separately acquire travel tickets, get access to mobile services or stand in museum queues. In addition, our support services will be also provided in English and French, which are the languages most often spoken by our foreign guests,” said the CEO of RT-Tourism, Mikhail Brusilovsky.
Fans arriving in St. Petersburg can pick between two service packages. The first includes an unlimited travel card for three days on all public transport, including the metro, an MTS SIM card with special service rates (unlimited Internet, 200 minutes of calls within Russia and 30 minutes of abroad) and 24/7 support. The second option includes all of the above, plus a culture ticket, which provides access to 12 top museums in the city. The Hermitage and Tsarskoe Selo museums have prepared special events for fans, available only through the GoRussia app.
“All of us have missed visiting major sporting events and, despite all the difficulties, thousands of fans from different countries will visit St. Petersburg to support their national teams. It is extremely important for a foreign tourist to stay in touch; to share emotions, experiences and joyful moments with their relatives and friends. To make this opportunity as accessible as possible, we have launched a service which allows to make roaming fees much cheaper, when compared to using a SIM card from a foreign operator,” said the Head of MTS in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Oblast, Pavel Korotin.
The pilot project will run from June 5 to June 12, 2021. However, the service desks will already be open from June 4 at the “clean” zone of Pulkovo airport and the FAN ID issuance points at 48 Nevsky Prospekt and 72 Primorsky Prospekt.
