KAMAZ Specialists Discussed Future of Automotive Engineering

KAMAZ representatives participated in VDA’s 20th Technical Congress which took place in Berlin on February 28 and February 29. The VDA’s 20th Technical Congress, the most important technology symposium in the automotive industry in Europe, was dedicated to the future of the automotive engineering.

KAMAZ representatives took part in discussions on key topics surrounding the mobility of the future. The event focused on the areas of “Environment, energy and electric mobility” and “Vehicle safety and electronics”. The above mentioned and other topics were addressed in keynote speeches performed by top-level representatives of the automotive sector, including such companies as Robert Bosch GmbH, Volkswagen AG, Ford Werke GmbH, Schaeffler AG. The information was of high interest to KAMAZ specialists.

“As a result of discussions in Germany we checked our company’s development strategy against modern trends of the automotive engineering, established new contacts, resolved some technical issues and outlined aspects for further growth and development”, Chief Innovative Technology Officer at KAMAZ Sergey Nazarenko admitted upon completion of the Congress. He also said that a number of important projects concerning energy efficient and fully autonomous Level 5 vehicles will be launched.

Russian commercial automation market leader has been developing transportation vehicles using intelligent control technologies for several years. A number of models, including trucks and buses equipped with electric drive, fully autonomous control system and intelligent information system, are currently being tested at KAMAZ. Besides that, an original multi-functional driver aid system has been designed.
