Kremlin Discussed Preparations to WorldSkills World Championship in Kazan

 

According to the official Kremlin website, today there was a meeting between Vladimir Putin and Olga Golodets, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation. Among other topics, they discussed the issue of preparations for hosting WorldSkills 2019 competition in Kazan. Rostec supports this international movement and organizes by regular corporate competitions based on WorldSkills standards.

Olga Golodets said that a large exhibition centre is being built in Kazan to become the main venue for the competition. This centre includes a congress-hall and exhibition spaces – 169,000 square meters.

"It is important that our teams are directly supported by national companies because we should not forget that the WorldSkills system also aims to promote Russian technologies on the global market. This is a very serious way to promote Russian presence on the global market. Such companies as Rosatom, Rostec and Russian Railways support us. We see this support as an effort to enter global markets as it helps us train teams to the highest standard," Olga Golodets stated.

The international competition WorldSkills is held every 2 years. In 2019, WorldSkills will be hosted in Kazan since Russia won this right in 2015 surpassing Paris and Charleroi, Belgium. It states to mention that the Russian Team ranked first at the 44th International competition WorldSkills in Abu Dhabi.
