Russian Helicopters Will Be Used During the 2022 Olympics

A distributor of Russian Helicopters has signed an agreement for the supply of three helicopters to China. The aircraft are expected to be used for medical and rescue operations during the Winter Olympics to be held in 2022 in China.

United Helicopters International Group, an authorized distributor of the Russian Helicopters Holding Company in China, has signed an agreement for the supply of medical helicopters to the Beijing emergency centre "999". The centre will receive two Ansat helicopters and one medical Mi-171 helicopter. The aircraft are expected to be used for medical and rescue operations during the 2022 Winter Olympics.

"The medical configuration of Ansat has a number of serious competitive advantages over its counterparts of the same class. The main advantage is its lower cost of maintenance, training and repair. Besides, the helicopter travels at a high speed, thus allowing to operate it for long distance flights. In the nearest future these helicopters will perform their primary mission in China – saving lives of people, and our company, in its turn, will make all possible efforts to develop and expand the medical aviation fleet in the country", commented the Managing Director of United Helicopters Li Xuefeng.

Mi-171 has a long history of operations in China. The helicopter has been used for passenger transportation, evacuation of people from disaster areas, as well as for transportation of various cargo, including medical supplies, humanitarian supplies and construction materials.

China is a reliable partner of Russia in the helicopter sector and a large operator of Russian helicopters in the Asia-Pacific.
