A delegation from the company Airbus visited VSMPO-AVISMA enterprises located in the city of Verkhnyaya Salda. Corporation CEO Mikhail Voevodin hosted the representatives of the largest European aircraft construction group.
During the meetings, the two sides discussed the current partnership program and discussed possibilities for future cooperation. Led by Olivier Coquille, Senior Vice President for the Procurement of Materials and Parts, nine Airbus managers visited the industrial site in Verkhnyaya Salda.
The guests were particularly interested in the machining shop, equipped with the most modern metalworking equipment, which enables the creation of products with a high degree of processing.
Special attention was also devoted to the almost-completed, large-scale modernization project that VSMPO-AVISMA has successfully undertaken over the course of the past five years, which had led to a new section of forging furnaces in the melting shop, a new forging system that utilizes a hydraulic press with a force of 4,000 tons, and more.
Olivier Coquille, who already visited and learned about the production cycle at VSMPO-AVISMA in April 2013, noted a big change upon returning to the enterprise in Verkhnyaya Salda. “I am very glad to be back at VSMPO-AVISMA and to see the tremendous progress in modernizing production at the enterprise. Remarkably, these changes are focused on a deepening the level of production and increasing value added. This is the main vector in which we expect our partnership with VSMPO-AVISMA to continue,” he said.
Airbus’s Senior Vice President for the Procurement of Materials and Parts emphasized the high level of trust between the two companies, whose history of cooperation last year passed its twenty-year mark.
“We have a very high level of trust in our relationship with Mikhail Voevodin, head of the corporation, and his team. We constantly discuss not only the results of implementing our contracts and obligations, but also plans for further development of our partnership. We analyze trends in the development of our companies, taking into account the conditions of the aerospace market,” said Olivier Coquille.
