DENIS MANTUROV, MINISTER OF INDUSTRY AND TRADE OF RUSSIA

Denis Manturov emphasized that, In the current geopolitical situation, Russia will continue to support a policy that increases the flow of goods from the Asian-Pacific region. He said, “Indonesia is currently one of Russia’s key partners not only in the Asia-Pacific region, but in the international arena as a whole. Bilateral economic and trade cooperation is an important component of relations between our countries. It is worth noting that, from the point of view of industry, our countries’ economies do not compete with, but rather complement, each other.”

The delegation toured the factory’s production facilities and an equipment exhibition, where they were presented with the new, multipurpose Mi-17V-5 helicopter. Vadim Ligay discussed the aircraft’s program of phased modernization, as well as how its technical and functional capabilities could be applied.

At the site, guests also checked out various versions of Ansat helicopters, namely the VIP, medical, and passenger versions. In addition, the delegation visited an exhibition of ground equipment used to service Ansat and Mi-8/17 helicopters.

The Russian-Indonesian delegation also visited a new paint shop that opened in August 2014 and the aggregate-assembly production building, which should be commissioned by the end of the year. The new paint shop has modern equipment, including seven painting and drying chambers from the Russian company Novatek, an area for preparing the surface of helicopters prior to painting, and equipment for automatically controlling temperature and humidity while applying adhesives.

The modernization of production facilities is a priority for the helicopter industry. Russian Helicopters started the project in late 2008. Currently, Kazan Helicopters has a comprehensive investment program that extends through 2018.

Since the work began, machining production has been entirely renovated. Two automated lines for the manufacture of parts have been introduced. One operator oversees each in a single shift. In addition, the modernization of warehousing and logistics has been completed, and reconstruction has begun on aggregate-assembly, electroplating, and other industries. In total, about 12.2 billion rubles will be spent on the program for reconstructing and modernizing production.

The ministers arrived at the plant after the 10th session of the Russian-Indonesian Joint Commission on Trade, Economic, and Technical Cooperation, during which issues relating to areas of future trade and economic cooperation were discussed. Participants in the meetings talked about a number of important, long-term projects, including the possibility of delivering Russian passenger aircraft to Indonesia.
