Molnya to show its developments at the MFD-2014

According to the press-service of the company, the Scientific Production Enterprise Molnya from Ufa, which is a part of the holding Aviation Equipment of the State Corporation Rostec, takes part in the International Forum of Engine Building 2014 (MFD), which is organized from 15th to 18th of April in 2014 at the All-Russia Exhibition Center.

Molnya will demonstrate the latest developments for civil and military aircrafts, in particular, modern engine units for planes and helicopters, including electronic systems of control, ignition and start for aircraft engines.

At the forum, the Enterprise from Ufa will show the unique electronic units ESU-222 and ESU-27M for the control and management of the training and combat Yak-130 and the medium-range all-cargo An-70 engines. The ESU-27М is distinguished by a digitally controlled turbo ventilation propeller engine, with full responsibility (FADEC, two control channels, pressure measurement unit with integrated sensors and an autonomous safe system).

This is the first FADEC that is installed directly in the engine. It includes a built-in pressure-measuring unit that reduces in one and a half times the weight of the engine control system. In addition, the ESU-27M replaced eight units that previously had been installed separately, thus the total weight of the engine control system has declined five times.

Another novelty from Molnya at the exhibition is a 3D model of the new system for fire protection for advanced passenger aircrafts such as the SSJ-100, SSJ-NG and MS-21, as well as multipurpose transport aircraft. The new system has been developed in the framework of the joint project of Aviation Equipment and the United States company Curtiss Wright Controls.

Within the framework of MDF-2014 the Molnya experts share their experience in the technology study to reduce errors in determining the coefficients of traction and the power of the axial propeller fan when modeling their work throughout the range of an engine operation.

In 2013, the company had accomplished, in full and on time, with the State Defense order for 13 products names. The total volume of supplies for the State Defense order increased a 67 % in comparison with 2012 and exceeded in RUR 340 million. In 2014, the company plans to start the production of 4-5 of the latest products and to increase the production by 10-15%.

The Unified Scientific Production Enterprise Molnya joint-stock company (UNPP Molnya OJSC) is a leading enterprise of the holding Aviation Equipment, which is a part of the State Corporation Rostec that deals with development and production of electronic systems of automatic control and electrical ignition systems for aircraft engines.
