Kama automobile plant is the largest truck and diesel engine producer in Russia. In the beginning of the 70s the construction of the plant and the town of Naberezhnye Chelny started. The workers of the venture had first tower blocks, medical and educational centres, sports and cultural facilities. After the works started operating the town population tripled.
In the Soviet Union the venture controlled almost the whole infrastructure of Naberezhnye Chelny from hotels and recreational cantres to schools and concert halls. The years passed but KAMAZ still develops the town.
Notwithstanding huge territories the company adheres to Russian and international environment rules and continuously improves environment management in order to reduce negative ecology impact of the plant. The production applies resource-saving technologies, new equipment and materials. All the automobiles go through mandatory eco-certification. KAMAZ repeatedly was the winner of Ecoleader regional competitions.

The company conducts targeted social aid. For example, the ‘Care’ programme helps out the elderly and the people with severe life conditions.
