Lada Granta on its way to the European Union


AVTOVAZ plans to expand its Lada Granta deliveries’ geography in 2013 by supplying the car to Germany, France, Serbia, Bulgaria and the Baltic countries. The EU models will meet Euro-5 ecologic requirements.

Aleksandr Shmygov, the Head of AVTOVAZ press-centre dwelt upon the company’s export plans in the interview to autogoda.ru.
In 2013 AVTOVAZ intends to start the supplies of Lada Granta in normal and luxurious versions to the far-abroad countries, such as Germany, France, Serbia, Bulgaria and the Baltics.

Aleksandr Shmygov noted that the importers all over the globe highly value the potential of Lada Granta and European customers impose special requirements on car design and consumer appeal. “This gives us incentives to search for original stylistic solutions, upgrade technology related to ecologic performance improvement and enhance passive safety of our products.”

“After all, the more famous manufacturer is outside its country, the higher its investment attractiveness and commercialization in general are.”

Shmygov also assured that the cars exported to the EU will meet theEuro-5 ecologic requirements.

Summarizing the results of 2012, AVTOVAZ exported 70 580 Lada cars. The leader changed, Ukraine stopped being our largest external market for the first time since the USSR breakup. The company representative believes turning the situation is possible through the deliveries of luxurious Lada Granta version with automatic transmission and new Lada Kalina and other cars in the future.

Major export markets according to the results of 2012 are:
• Kazakhstan – 53.7% of total export volume
• Ukraine – 22.1%
• Azerbaijan – 12.4%

The car was also supplied to Belarus, Armenia and Moldova.
