Nissan presented the teaser image of the Datsum car of its low-cost sub-brand based on Lada Kalina. The model will appear next year and first sold in India, Indonesia, South Africa and Russia. The car front slightly reminds of Lada Granta.
In the end of the last year AVTOVAZ and Nissan agreed joint Datsum cars designing and producing. The cars will be based on the same platform as Lada Kalina and Granta. The outside appearance is designed by the Nissan Japanese specialists and the bodywork will be elaborated by Nissan and AVTOVAZ.
Serial assembly will be conducted by AVTOVAZ in the early 2014. Within the next 3 years the company intends to start producing 3 models, but the details yet remain unknown.
It has become known earlier that Datsum model will cost approximately 300-350 thousand roubles. In December, 2012 AVTOVAZ started manufacturing the low-cost Nissan Almera sedan, which shares the platform with Renault Logan and Lada Largus. Almera has petrol 1.6 l engine and 102 h.p. The most moderate car version is approximates to 429 thousand roubles.
