Rosoboronexport to exhibit best Russian projects at IDEX 2013

Rosoboronexport will display over 200 items of Russian weaponry and military equipment at the IDEX 2013 international defence exhibition, which will be held in February, 17-21 in Abu-Dhabi (the UAE).

Rosoboronexport exposition will be interactive. Modern simulators will help the experts to understand the basic characteristics and combat capabilities of Russian ground and aviation equipment.

Panoramic screen will demonstrate performance characteristics of T-90, BMP-3, BTR-80A, 2S19 MSTA-S SPG, Smerch multiple rocket launcher, Mi-28NE and Ka-52 combat helicopters, Su-35 and MiG-29M fighter aircrafts. Every specimen has the tactical employment situations modeled, which shows the particular advantages of Russian equipment use.

Full-scale showpieces will include T-90S tank and Terminator tank support fighting vehicle.

According to Mr Dimidyuk, Rosoboronexport delegation Head, Russia is an active participant of the IDEX exhibition and always brings something special for the occasion. Last year it presented our interactive exhibition complex, the innovative Rosoboronexport approach to international shows. This time the company added full-scale specimens. Russian weaponry will certainly be the highlight of the show.

Another prospective segment of Russian exposition is modern air defence means presented mostly by Almaz-Antey. According to Rosoboronexport experts, the region has a ready market for almost every export item from man portable air defence systems to long-range missile detection systems.

The roots of the interest are evident. Constructing layered air defence system is strategic for the countries, which would prefer to avoid political and especially military pressure. Russian air defence means reliable protection from all air threats.

Today the ground forces equipment, especially armours, is one of the most promising lines of Russia’s international military-technical cooperation.
Instrument Design Bureau will display wide range of antitank armament, including the popular Konet-E, Metis-M1 and Kornet-EM assault antitank weapon.
