The Smerch multiple-launch rocket system will take part in the mechanized convoy to parade across the Red Square on the commemoration day devoted to the 73rd anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The 300 mm Smerch multiple-launch rocket system was developed by a science-cum-production amalgamation SPLAV in the 1980s in. It was the world’s first MLRS allowing a rocket projectile trajectory correction and featuring a boost phase angular stabilization system as well as a range correction system. The innovation made it possible to improve the firing tightness, range and direction accuracy more than twofold. Smerch has a maximum firing range of 90 kilometers. This rocket system is still considered unrivaled.

Tecmash will also parade its rocket artillery on the Victory Day in Tula. The Grad MRLS will be paired with Smerch in the military vehicles motorcade. Created under the Alexander Ganichev direction in 1963, the 122 mm Grad system became a real breakthrough in the then rocket artillery. Its first combat mission occurred during the Sino-Soviet border clash over Damansky Island in 1969. Currently, Grad is in service in over 50 countries worldwide.
