Slovak Scientists Use Shvabe Optics in Laser Designing

Shvabe Holding affiliated to Rostec State Corporation exported a large batch of diffraction gratings to Slovakia. Russian optics is used in laser designing.

The batch consists of 20 gratings produced at the Shvabe Holding plant – the State Institute of Applied Optics (GIPO). This is the second delivery to the Slovak customer – the first ten items were supplied in 2017.

The diffraction gratings will be used in the developing carbon dioxide lasers used in devices for scientific and applied researches to measure ambient concentrations of pollutants, search air pollution sources, and can also be used in chemically hazardous facilities and in medicine.

“We have been exporting diffraction optics to Slovakia since 2010. This is our stable export market. In general, we constantly develop and strengthen the export position of GIPO. Thus, we have exported more gratings in the first six months of this year than during the entire last year. This figure will grow as by the end of the year it is expected to ship about 130 items of products to European countries", said Villen Baloev, CEO of GIPO.

GIPO produces up to 70% of diffraction optics in Russia. The export map of the plant has European and CIS countries including Ireland, Germany, Norway, Kazakhstan, Belarus, etc. A total of 298 diffraction gratings have been exported for the first six months of 2018, while exports for the entire 2017 amounted to 272 gratings.
