Russian Helicopters Started Certification of the Ansat Helicopter in China

Russian Helicopters Holding (affiliated to Rostec State Corporation), together with Rosaviatsiya, has conducted the first round of negotiations with China’s Civil Aviation Administration (CAAC) representatives on the validation of the Russian certificate for the Ansat helicopter in China. Following the results of this meeting, the parties have determined further steps to take. A CAAC delegation is planning to visit Kazan Helicopters to learn more about Ansats manufacturing before long.

“This year the first Ansat helicopters are to be delivered to China. These will be the helicopters furnished with medical modules, but I can note that our Chinese customers are interested in other helicopter modifications, too. Therefore, both we and our Chinese colleagues have a lot to do to legitimize Ansat on Chinese market,” said Andrey Boginsky, Chief Executive Officer of Russian Helicopters.

Ansat is a light twin-engine multi-purpose helicopter massively produced by Kazan Helicopters. The helicopter modification featuring a medical module was certified in May 2015.

The medical Ansat has a number of serious competitive advantages over the equivalents in its class, including first of all lower maintenance, training and repair cost. Besides, the helicopter has the most spacious cabin in its class and can fly at high speed, which provides for using it for long-distance flights.

Apart from China, Russian Helicopters is now negotiating a certificate validation for this type of helicopters in Brazil, Mexico and Canada.
