Rostec Equipment Will Reinforce Reliability of Power Supply in Crimea

Rostec is implementing a contract for gas-turbine units supply for Saki TPP in the Republic of Crimea. This equipment will reinforce reliability of power supply to residential and industrial consumers in the peninsula.

The delivery of gas-turbine units manufactured by UEC-Gas Turbines of UEC Holding affiliated to Rostec State Corporation is in line with the import substitution and energy security provisioning policies in the Republic of Crimea. The contract with Crymteploelectrotcentral JSC provides for the delivery of four GTA-25 gas-turbine units with the total generating capacity of 90 MW for the Thermal Power Plant in Saki. The gas-turbine units are based on the PS-90GP-25 industrial engine; the GTA are to be transformed into a combine cycle solution. The current generating capacity of the plant is 30 MW.

The PS-90GP-25 engine is a derivative of a high-performance aircraft gas turbine. The power units of the type have been successfully used as a driver for gas-compressor plants and power generators in gas-turbine plants. The PS-90GP engines have been successfully used by a number of large Russian customers like Gazprom, Lukoil, etc.

The GTA-25 gas-turbine unit is designed to generate and supply electric power to industrial and residential consumers. GTA effectively utilizes associated petroleum gas, which may like the natural gas be used as fuel.
