KAMAZ-Master Won the Gold of Kagan Rally

The second stage of Russian Rally-Raid Championship Gold of Kagan 2018 held in the Astrakhan Region ended with a victory of Andrey Karginov's KAMAZ-Master crew in the truck category.

According to the press office of KAMAZ, KAMAZ-Master crews won three first prizes of the truck event, and Boris Gadasin from the 4x4 category was the only one to rank higher than the KAMAZ sportsmen in the overall rating.

The winner of the race was the crew lead by Andrey Karginov (navigator Andrey Mokeev, mechanic Igor Leonov). The crew of Eduard Nikolaev (navigator Evgeny Yakovlev, mechanic Vladimir Rybakov) took the second place, and Dmitry Sotnikov's crew (navigator Dmitry Nikitin, mechanic Ilnur Mustafin) was the third.

"I had to miss the Silk Way and Dakar, the key rally races of the season, due to an injury that I suffered last year. Psychologically that was hard for me. All I could do was watch them on TV. This is why, I believe, my desire to step onto the starting line was enormous. Today's objective was keeping our usual pace and, as far as possible, showing good results. We tried our best to drive fast and safe. I am very thankful to my crew and the entire team for the smooth work. This competition meant a lot to me. I am glad that we succeeded," said Andrey Karginov.
