The Silk Way 2018 International Rally has come to its end. The ceremonial finish was held on the Red Square. All top places in the truck category were won by KAMAZ-Master crews. Andrey Karginov gained the lead in the race, Airat Mardeev came second, Anton Shibalov was the one to top up the prizetakers triad.

Maarten van den Brink won the seventh stage that was also the anchor leg of the race, Eduard Nikolaev finished second, and Dmitry Sotnikov came third. Andrey Karginov's crew took the fifth position in the stage ranking. What counts most is the cherry on top, that is the first Silk Way victory of Andrey Karginov's crew.

"Notwithstanding the missed year due to an injury Andrey demonstrated a firm and uncompromising struggle and worthily deserved the golden tiger- the SWR winner's award. The silver tiger award was given to the Airat Mardeev crew, and the third to join the prizetakers on the podium Anton Shibalov's crew" noted Eric Khayrullin, KAMAZ-master team Press Attaché.

We recall that the SWR eighth edition route run across the Astrakhan, Volgograd, Lipetsk and Tula regions, as well as the Republic of Kalmykia. The race total length was almost 3,500 km. The final part of the Silk Way 2018 will take place in China this fall.
