Rostec and Serbia to Develop Smart Cities Together

 

Rostec State Corporation and the Government of the Republic of Serbia signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of innovation and technological development. The parties plan to work jointly to implement projects in the area of digital economy and cloud computing technology. Development and implementation of smart city solutions will become a special aspect of our cooperation.

Nenad Popovic, Minister for innovation and technological development, signed the document on behalf of the Republic of Serbia, and Dmitry Lelikov, Deputy Director General of the corporation, signed it on behalf of Rostec. The signing took place during the visit of the Serbian delegation to the Russian Federation.

“We agreed on cooperation in the field of IT and telecommunications, digitalization of economic sectors, implementation of smart technologies, science and personnel development. I am sure that the document signed today will boost development of commercial and economic relations between Russian and Serbian enterprises and open new prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation,” commented Sergey Chemezov, CEO of Rostec.

“We focus on development of cooperation between our universities and research organizations by means of exchange of professors, students and experts in the field of innovation and digital economy. Our main goal is to use the expertise of Russia in development of smart and safe cities and to strengthen cooperation in this area,” said Nenad Popovic, Minister for innovation and technological development of the Republic of Serbia.

The agreement envisages sharing best practices, staff exchange and joint design, production and implementation of high-tech goods and services. Research groups including specialists from the two countries will work on project implementation for the mutual benefit. Besides, Rostec will provide support to the Serbian party in establishment of science and technology hubs on its territory.
