KAMAZ Remains the Leader of the Russian Trucks Market

 

KAMAZ remains the leader of the Russian trucks market. Four models of vehicles built by the company were included in the TOP-5 most popular trucks in Russia at the end of August 2017.

According to analytic agency Autostat, in August 2017 there were sold 2.6 thousand KAMAZ vehicles, which is 49.5% higher than in the similar period of the previous year. Thus, KAMAZ still remains the leader of the Russian market for new trucks.

The second place is held by another Russian brand – GAZ whose sales were 691 vehicles, and the third place is held by German MAN (610 vehicles). The TOP-5 companies also included German Mercedes-Benz (561 vehicles) and Swedish Scania (527 vehicles).

According to Autostat, in terms of August ratings the leading position belongs to KAMAZ-5490 with 523 vehicles sold. Second place belongs to KAMAZ-43118 (571 vehicles), third – Mercedes-Benz Actros (486 vehicles). TOP-5 most popular vehicles also includes two more models by the Russian car building company – KAMAZ-6520 (471 vehicles) and KAMAZ-65115 (431 vehicles).

In August 2017 the volume of the Russian market for trucks was about 7.8 thousand vehicles, which is 65.3% higher than one year before. In total, at the end of eight months' period of 2017 the Russian market for new trucks grew to almost 46 thousand vehicles sold. This is 47% higher than in the same period of the previous year.
