The production of two new models LADA Vesta and LADA Vesta SW Cross was launched on September, 11, 2017. First cars were produced on LADA conveyor in Izhevsk.
LADA Vesta SW and SW Cross have added the lineup of LADA Vesta, one of the most popular cars on the Russian market: within 8 months of 2017 it holds the 3 position in sales ranking. The new models have combined the expressive design with crossover features. Vivid and swift, they embodied a new philosophy of comfort and functionality.
Initially, the engineers were tasked to create a reliable and qualitative vehicle. By the preparation of production was tested over 200 prototypes of LADA Vesta SW and LADA Vesta SW Cross, which were tested under laboratory and road conditions, successfully passed the crash-test and reliability tests with a full load on special cobblestone, dirt and gravel roads. The novelties were tested on climatic conditions in a heat chamber by temperatures from - 40 to + 55 degrees. These tests have confirmed the high safety and reliability level of the construction.
The special attention was drawn to the fine tuning of the LADA Vesta SW chassis considering a new weight distribution. It was developed the unique chassis variant with increased clearance and with effective balance between the steerability and comfort of LADA Vesta. 33 additional stamped parts were installed in the body construction, that allowed to increase the body stiffness on torsion and improve the maneuverability and vibroacoustic comfort.
The stamping of 79 new and modified body parts, the updating of welding, painting and assembly shops was developed to launch the LADA Vesta SW and LADA Vesta SW Cross production in Izhevsk, and also it was appeared 38 new manufacturing operations on conveyor. The first pre-production LADA Vesta SW went into the classroom, where the employees of the plant have training. LADA Vesta SW and LADA Vesta SW Cross complemented the lineup of LADA Izhevsk plant, where the liftback LADA Granta and the sedan LADA Vesta.are being produced
The sales of LADA Vesta SW and LADA Vesta SW Cross will start this fall.
