60 Thousand Shots Will Be Made During the Fireworks Festival in Moscow


On the next weekend, 19 and 20 August, the Rostec International Fireworks Festival will be held in the Brateevo Cascade Park with the support from the Rostec State Corporation. Eight teams will participate in this special event: from Russia, Austria, Armenia, Brazil, China, Romania, Croatia and Japan. The first four teams will take the floor this Saturday, 19 August, the rest – on Sunday, 20 August.

This year, the festival dedicated to the capital's 870th anniversary will be called "Moscow on Seven Hills". During the festival the guests will be able to visit various workshops, get acquainted with the advance technologies, meet writers, participate in family-oriented sport games.

It is expected that the participants will make about 60 thousand fireworks shots using 27 tons of pyrotechnic products. The festival will start at 09:00 p.m. According to the rules, each participating team will have 9 minutes for the performance, and the shots will be made to the height of 200 m.

Moscow will host the fireworks festival for the third time. The first one was held in 2015 on Sparrow Hills. The Brateevo Cascade Park has become the venue since last year. Based on the voting results, last year the first place was taken by the team from Kazakhstan, the second – by Azerbaijan. The Russian team of fireworkers won bronze. The grand prize of the festival was awarded to the representatives of the Chinese delegation.
