The Rostec State Corporation is working with the government of Malaysia to expand cooperation through the supply of civilian products and aviation.
“Over the last 20 years Malaysia has been a strategic partner of the Rostec State Corporation. We are actively involved in military and technical cooperation in a number of areas: aviation, the army and the military navy, and in recent years our cooperation has gained momentum. We are currently engaged in arms supply programs and are upgrading technology that was previously supplied to Malaysia.
We are also looking to extending our cooperation to civil areas that have growth potential: electronics, composite materials and IT. The civil aviation market, especially the helicopter sector, is also showing great potential for us,” said Head of the joint delegation from Rostec and Rosoboronexport at the 2017 LIMA exhibition Viktor Kladov, Director for International Cooperation and Regional Policy Department of the State Corporation.
“LIMA-2017 is the most important event for the aviation and military navy markets of Malaysia and the surrounding region and our participation in it is a long-standing tradition. LIMA-2017 is attracting representatives of various countries of this region and we are looking to conducting fruitful negotiations both with the Malaysian Government and delegations from other countries,” he pointed out.
Head of the delegation from Rosoboronexport Vladmir Yereshchenko, Head of the Marketing Department, in turn noted that “the Asia-Pacific region accounts for 45% of Rosoboronexport exports.” “We are engaged in military and technical cooperation with our traditional partners in this region, and successfully develop new markets for weapons and military equipment, including those for air and naval forces. Many of the Langkawi exhibits, including aviation and naval technologies, and unmanned aerial vehicles, have been tested in real combat conditions during the anti-terrorist operation in Syria, and we are already seeing foreign customers showing a special interest in these products," he said.
JSC Rosoboronexport (part of the Rostec State Corporation) will showcase over 270 samples of weapons and military equipment at the 2017 Langkawi International Maritime & Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA).The company is in charge of the united Russian stand showcasing over 500 products from 20 defence enterprises of the country’s defence industry complex.
Rosoboronexport experts mention a number of products that have the greatest potential for the Asia-Pacific Region, including Su-35, Su-30MKM and Su-30MKI super-manoeuvrable multi-mission fighters, Yak-130 flight trainers (combat-capable trainer aircrafts), Ka-52 combat scouts, MI-17 military transport helicopters, Orlan-10E and Takhion unmanned aerial vehicle complexes. In addition, it is expected that the following exhibits will engage the interest of the public: the frigates of projects 22356 and 11356, project 20382 corvettes, patrol vessels of projects 11661 Hepard 5.1 and 22160, patrol boats of projects 14310 Mirage and 12510 Mongoose, and vessel weapon systems for the naval forces of the APAC countries, including the 30 mm AK-630M automatic artillery cannon, the AK-306 light weight artillery cannon, and the combat remote control complex Rhumb.
Foreign customers are also likely to show interest in the integrated littoral control system for ensuring maritime safety in exclusive economic zones during peacetime, and protecting naval communications and military-economic infrastructure during wartime, which is presented by Rosoboronexport.
Out of all Rostec products, foreign specialists and experts will most likely be interested in Ka-52 combat scouts and MI-17 military transport helicopters.
The Russian Knights aerobatic team will give a special show that will become the highlight of the exhibition. For the first time outside Russia they will present a new programme comprising solo and group flying elements using the new Su-30CM super-manoeuverable fighters. The Russian aerobic team is always a roaring success, no matter what country they perform in.
