AVTOVAZ and ‘Azia Avto’ (Kazakhstan) joint venture







Kazakhstan is AVTOVAZ largest export market, where Lada cars became undeniable leader.

In December, 2000 AVTOVAZ and ‘Bipek Auto’, Kazakhstan Lada general importer, concluded an agreement on assembly plant based on ‘Azia Avto’ facilities launching in Ust-Kamenogorsk. In December, 2002 the first Lada-Niva was assembled in Kazakhstan.

In November, 2011 AVTOVAZ, ‘Azia Avto’ and ‘Ertis’ signed a memorandum on full-circle automobile production strategic partnership. The cooperation presupposes welding, body painting and component manufacturing complexes launching with the production capacity of 120 thousand cars per year. First production line (90 thousand cars per year) is expected to start in 2015 and the second (additional 30 thousand per year) – in 2017.

Kazakhstan, Siberian and Fareast federal regions of Russia, the countries of Central Asia and Transcaucasia will be the future sales markets of the production.

Along with the implementation of long-term production goals, AvtoVAZ and the group of companies "BIPEK AUTO - ASIA AUTO" agreed to work together on the development of sales and service on the market of Siberia. 

The corresponding agreement in the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, signed September 30, 2014 at the XI Russian-Kazakh Forum, held in Atyrau.
Partners combine resources for the implementation of distribution, retail sales and after-sales service of LADA in the Siberian Federal District of Russia.
