FUSO KAMAZ Trucks Rus and Mercedes-Benz Trucks Vostok are the joint ventures of KAMAZ and Daimler AG (Germany)

 

 

 

 

 

The Daimler concern is a strategic partner of KAMAZ and the ‘Rostec’ corporation. Currently they implement over 20 joint projects concerning mutual deliveries, personnel training, automotive industry technologies transfer, automobile manufacturing and realization. Two joint ventures were set.

The first venture, FUSO KAMAZ Trucks Rus, establishment was agreed with Daimler possessing the right to produce Mitsubishi Fuso Canter medium duty trucks, in the end of 2009.

MFC truck knocked down assembly plant began to work in 2010 based on the facilities of the ‘Master’ industrial estate in Naberezhnye Chelny. By May, 2011 the works has already produced the thousandth Canter truck. This automobile is highly appreciated around the world for its reliability, cost effectiveness and durability. Medium duty truck line is presented by hundred models and 4 running gear length modifications. Russian dealer network comprises over 60 selling spots. The company is committed to the principle of 3S: Spares selling and Service support should be carried out in the same location as the automobile Sales. 

The second JV, Mercedes-Benz Trucks Vostok, was established pari passu in 2009.

It commenced to work in the beginning of 2010 and focuses on truck and special motor equipment manufacturing, service and realization within Russia. The assembly itself was launched on September, 30 and the first truck, manufactured by the JV in Naberezhnye Chelny was Mercedes-Benz Actros 1841 LS, leading car of the brand among international transportation sector.

The presence of Mercedes-Benz in Russian truck market grows every day. In crises 2009 the company market share was 5%, in 2010 it reached 10.2% and 11% in 2011. In 2012the enterprise has already produced 2.5 thousand Actros, Axor, Atego, Unimog and Zetros Mercedes-Benz trucks.

Due to the interaction with Daimler KAMAZ has access to modern technologies and lays a solid foundation for further integration to the international car industry. German enterprise in its turn obtains admittance to extensive dealer network and industrial capacities. Currently the fruitful cooperation keeps developing. Thus the parties plan to manufacture KAMAZ truck in order to meet Euro-5 requirements in 2014.
