Alexander Fomin

Born in March, 25, 1959 in Leninigorsk.

EDUCATION

Mr Fomin graduated in 1984 from the Defence University with a major in Foreign Languages. He also took Modern Management courses in the Academy of Russian Economy in 1996, and advanced courses of Defence and Security Control in Defence Academy of Armed Forces General Staff in 2003. Finally Mr Fomin studied the National Policy in Economics in the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.

Mr Fomin has a PhD in Engineering Science.

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY

1977-1993 – Armed Services of the USSR and Russia

1993-1994 – Military-technical cooperation Chief Administration in Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations

1994-1998 – Assistant to CEO, Deputy Head of Department, Head of Department, Deputy Chief of Service, Chief of Service in ‘Rosvooruzhenie’.

1998-1999 – Deputy CEO of ‘Zarubezhstroyinvest’.

1999-2001 – Head of Department in ‘Promexport’.

2001-2005 – Deputy Head of Department, Head of Department in ‘Rosoboronexport’.

2005-2007 – Deputy Director of Federal Agency for military-technical cooperation.

2007-2012 – First Deputy Director of Federal Agency for military-technical cooperation.

2012-nowadays - Director of Federal Agency for military-technical cooperation.

Member of the Export Control Commission of Russian Federation.

HONOURS

Awarded with the Medal of Merit for the Fatherland (II class), Order for Comradeship-in-Arms reinforcement, Order of Friendship, and the Order of Merit for the Fatherland (IV class).
